new york supmode

Welcome to the fascinating world of fashion in New York! At SUPMODE, we offer our students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the city that never sleeps, New York. Find out below what our students experienced on their trip to New York.

About the trip

During their gap year, our students had the chance to spend 4 days in New York alongside their Quebec peers. The trip took place from Monday January 16 to Friday January 20. One of the highlights of the trip was a visit to two exceptional exhibitions at the Brooklyn Museum:

  • Thierry Mugler's "Couturissime" exhibition: A dive into Thierry Mugler's world of fashion, an unforgettable experience for our students.
  • Figures of Speech" permanent collection by Virgil Abloh: An exploration of the creations of Virgil Abloh, a contemporary fashion icon.

Exploring the Garment District

Our students also had the opportunity to visit the Garment District, also known as the "garment district". The Garment District is considered New York's largest fashion district. Nicknamed the "designer's paradise", the Garment District offered our students a wealth of opportunities to find quality fabrics and supplies to make their unique tailored jackets.

First vision New-York

Another highlight of the trip was a visit to Première Vision New York, a showroom for discovering trends, inspirations and influences for the coming season. Our students were able to immerse themselves in the dynamic world of fashion and draw inspiration from the latest trends.

Bindle and Keep Studio

The students also had the chance to visit the Bindle and Keep Studio boutique, where they were greeted by the designer. Bindle and Keep Studio is a concept store that promotes genderless fashion, offering a unique perspective on diversity and inclusivity in the fashion industry.

Discovering New York

Our B2 Fashion Marketing & Design Manager students left Canada to immerse themselves in the world of New York fashion. They discovered iconic neighborhoods such as Times Square, the Garment District and Central Park. In addition, they explored exhibits at the Fashion Institute of Technology (#FIT) and the Museum of Arts and Design, and participated in trade shows such as Texworld, Project, and Premiere Vision.

At SUPMODE, we believe in the importance of practical experience for our students, and this trip to New York was an unforgettable experience that inspired and enriched them in their academic and professional careers.
