The pattern maker is responsible for the technical and qualitative development of articles (clothing, leather goods, footwear, etc.) by modifying or creating model patterns according to specifications, a sketch or a style, with a view to mass production. He/she works according to manufacturing standards (size standardization, etc.) and technical and economic production imperatives (quality, productivity, deadlines). He/she may create new models, carry out a style study, make patterns (size by size gradation) for items, or produce prototypes. He/she may also coordinate a team.
