Charlotte Perriand exhibition
"An exhibition dedicated to Charlotte Perriand (1903-1999), a free-spirited woman and pioneer of modernity, one of the leading figures in 20th-century design who helped define a new art of living.
To mark the twentieth anniversary of her death, the Fondation pays tribute to this visionary architect and designer with an exhibition that explores the links between art, architecture and design.
The exhibition retraces the work of this architect, whose work anticipates contemporary debates about women and the place of nature in our society. It offers visitors the chance to step right into modernity, thanks to scientifically faithful reconstructions incorporating works of art selected by Charlotte Perriand to embody her vision of the synthesis of the arts. Through this exhibition, her work invites us to rethink the role of art in our society: an object of delight, it is also the spearhead of tomorrow's societal transformations." LV Foundation
Balmain
"Appointed Artistic Director in 2011 at just 25 years of age, Olivier Rousteing has brilliantly risen to the challenge of creating a style that is unique to Balmain and immediately identifiable.
While the House is rich in archives and boasts a workshop that masters traditional couture techniques to perfection, Rousteing didn't just exploit them; he also imposed a singular silhouette and contemporary vision that reflect the lifestyle of the members of the "Balmain Army" - young people from the same generation as himself.
Season after season, the shows embody Rousteing's modern, eclectic Balmain universe and celebrate 21st-century culture, especially today's music." Balmain
