SUPMODE raises awareness of responsible and sustainable fashion, taking into account technical constraints and the reuse of existing materials. We build students' minds by their creativity and vision with their ecological awareness.
Upcycling: Sustainable and ethical fashion
In fashion, the notion of upcycling consists of transforming used clothing or textiles into new pieces. This practice is part of a circular economy approach, helping to reduce the carbon footprint of one of the most polluting industries, fashion.
Upcycling is not a constraint, it's an opportunity! It means transforming a garment, blanket, fabric... destined to be thrown away into a unique piece. It means reinventing the original creation ! Durability can finally go hand in hand with innovation.
Collaboration with Le Relais Gironde
As part of our commitment to eco-responsible fashion, we collaborate with local actors, as in this project with Le Relais Gironde. This organization is dedicated to collecting and sorting used textiles to give them a second life. Their aim is to reduce textile waste on the one hand, while supporting social and environmental projects on the other.
A concrete project for our students
So our students went to a Relais Gironde warehouse to collect unused trench coats and knits. Their challenge? Create a complete outfit using only recycled materials, a trench coat and a knitted piece. This project raises awareness of over-consumption and and allows students to go beyond the limits.
By combining creativity and responsibilitywe want to and will prove that upcycling is a more than viable solution for the future of fashion.
