QUEBEC 2024 BREAK

Cesure-québec-new-york

Excursion to Canada

Our Bachelor 2 students are heading for North America for an unforgettable two-month experience.

They've set down their luggage at the Notre Dame de Foy Campus, where they're doing a "césure" during which they'll have to create a Veste Tailleur (tailored jacket). This project is in keeping with the tailoring movement, which is understood as the art of wearing a suit, and is also a movement that draws inspiration from men's cuts and suits to create garments for women's wardrobes.

The program

The students will take fashion marketing courses as well as some courses they will share with the Quebec students, including :

45 hours of shared English with Quebecers

90 hours of joint model-building with Quebecers

45 hours of Creation & Styling

45 hours of fashion product promotion

New York Week

During their gap year, the students traveled to the East Coast of the United States, accompanied by students from Quebec, to visit one of the world's most important fashion capitals, New York.

A one-week stay during which they will discover the different districts of New York: from Times Square to the Garment District, as well as visiting trade fairs and museums.

The week began with an exploration of innovative shops in Times Square and on the world's most famous street, Fifth Avenue. To round off this wonderful day, they indulged in a shopping session in the Soho district.

In the days that followed, they visited Texworld, a shopping show for retailers and designers on spring/summer 2025 trends. They then visited the Hearst Corporation, an American media group and publisher of fashion magazines, for a company tour.

To continue this inspiring stay, a private tour of the luxurious Ralph Lauren store on the Upper East Side was organized. To continue, the students had the chance to visit the museum hosting the most important fashion event of the year, the MET gala, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. At the same venue, they were able to admire the magnificent creations of the "Women dressing Women" exhibition. This exhibition showcases the work of over seventy women's fashion designers, from 1910 to the present day, including French haute couture.

Back in Quebec City, with their heads full of cultural inspirations, trends and memorable souvenirs, the students begin the styling part of their Suit Jacket.

Thanks to the CNDF for this partnership, already in place for 10 years.
