London immersion
On Friday, May 6, our Bachelor 1 Fashion Marketing & Design Manager students had the opportunity to
the opportunity to go to London for 3 days!
A very enriching experience in fashion culture.
Day 1
Students in the Bachelor 1 Fashion Marketing & Design Manager program had the privilege of visiting Central Saint Martins, SUPMODE's partner and the world's second-largest arts and design university. A true incubator of talent, it offers a range of excellent training courses.
Discovering this school was very inspiring for the students, and it was also a source of motivation for the completion of their achievements for this year 2022!
We would also like to thank Ashley, Head of Partnerships, for her tour of the school and all the information she provided!
To round off the day in style, they then visited the Victoria and Albert Museum or "V&A" in South Kensington. It is the world's largest museum of applied arts, decorative arts, design and sculpture. The Victoria and Albert Museum boasts a permanent collection of over 2.27 million objects. The students visited the temporary exhibition Fashion Masculinities. This exhibition aims to show how designers, tailors, artists, customers and models have constructed and interpreted masculinity in their creations.
Day 2
A trip to London without a visit to East London's thrift district is a mission impossible! This district is full of unique and iconic beauty.
Colorful, singular looks, street art on every store front or house, a festive atmosphere, art galleries, markets, coffee shops full of imagination... Art is bound to express itself!
The most popular neighborhoods in northeast London are Shoreditch, Bethnal Green, Brick Lane and Spitafields.
Day 3
To end their stay on a high note, they headed to Buckingham Palace for the Changing of the Guard. The Queen was present on this glorious day.
Luck was on their side! With a front-row seat, they were able to admire this unique and very impressive spectacle when we were close to the guards as they entered the palace.
In the afternoon, they headed for the Tate Modern museum, which houses the national collection of modern and international art from the original Tate Gallery. Rich and moving in knowledge, this visit was highly instructive.
Located in Binkside in the Southwark district on the right bank of the Thames, the group took advantage of the opportunity to discover this district full of street entertainment, food trucks, families, friends...
The trip enabled the students to discover London and its working-class districts, immerse themselves in a different lifestyle and mentality, overcome the language barrier, enrich their knowledge of fashion and strengthen their common bonds.
