BANGKOK 2024 BREAK

Cesure-Bangkok-2024

Two months in Thailand

Our Bachelor 2 students have the great opportunity to spend 2 months abroad, in Bangkok, Thailand, at the Chanapatana International Design Institute. CIDI is one of Thailand's leading international design schools.

A veritable fashion capital in the making, Bangkok's importance on the international fashion scene continues to grow thanks to Fashion Week. The event welcomes renowned designers from all over Asia, such as India's Manish Arora, creator of "Indian by Manish Arora", a brand designed for women's wardrobes, a market that was underdeveloped in the past, or Malaysia's Melinda Looi, creator of "Melinda Looi Couture". Her collections are inspired by the works of art of her daughter Maya Luebbert. Melinda's creations represent the culture and ethnic diversity that characterize Malaysia.

Student program

The CIDI campus offers students total immersion in a 100% English program, immersing them in the art of ancestral natural dyeing techniques.

Among the techniques used by the students is tie and dye, known as "mudmee" in Thailand, which adds a touch of color, joy and tradition to their creations. There are also floral dyes and batik. The latter technique involves "hiding" part of the fabric from the dye, thus creating a pattern.

During their stay, the students will have to create a silhouette and an accessory inspired by the famous Coachella festival. Coachella is considered one of the biggest annual festivals in the United States and the world. It's a musical, artistic, social and media event.

Their Thai life is also punctuated by visits to mythical places, markets and factories.

We can't wait for our students to return with their creations.
