SUPMODE x QUEBEC INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE

Paris-Quebec

A 3-day Creative Adventure!

Welcome to the world of fashion, where elegance and creativity meet to create unique, timeless pieces.

SUPMODE collaborates on an international level, and welcomes 10 Quebec students from the Notre Dame de Foy Campus in Quebec City. Their thesis project is the creation of a corset, a timeless emblem of the fashion industry.

The students headed for the fashion capital of the world, Paris.

Thursday 16: The Art of Haute Couture

The first day began with a visit to the Musée Galliera for an exhibition dedicated to the collection of Azzedine Alaïa, the great Franco-Tunisian couturier. Students had the opportunity to draw inspiration from unique creations by couture masters.

Next, an exclusive experience awaited them at the Maison Emanuel Ungaro showroom, with a private tour in the company of Communications Director Isabelle Konikoff.

The storefronts of the luxury houses on Avenue Montaigne and Rue Faubourg Saint-Honoré revealed stories of style and sophistication. The day concluded with an instructive visit to Maison Desmalter, guided by Fedor Georges Savchenko, offering a fascinating glimpse into its prestigious history of leather goods and interior furnishings.

Friday 17: Between culture and creation

Being in Paris, the teaching team visited some of the most prestigious fashion houses to follow up on their internships: Balmain & Chanel.

An immersion in the "Mode & Sport, d'un podium à l'autre" exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs enriched their understanding of the interaction between fashion and sport over the years. The day concluded with a stroll through the Marais district, combining exhibitions and vintage finds.

Saturday 18: Immersion in craft skills

The final day kicked off at the Musée on 19 M, offering a plunge into the contemporary art of Carla Fernandez, who showcased her creations in collaboration with Mexican artisans.

Then it was off to Marché Saint Pierre to shop for fabrics and accessories, providing the inspiration for the corset, the central project of the year. The day ended with a relaxing cruise on the Seine aboard a Bateau Mouche, giving the students a different view of Paris.
